The Bamboo Ensemble

The Bamboo score, much like an arrangement of musical notes, permeates the space through its silent music.

What a collection of bamboos, each with its distinct personality, flavor and style. Some are bold (4th), some are vigorous (3rd), some are attentive and alert (1st) and some are feminine (2nd). And all together splendid and magnificent! A great showing by Mom!

Hello, I surfed on in from another site, and just wanted to say your paintings are wonderful.

I had been watching a film about a Korean painter recently where the painter's master training involved playing music, and the student painted the bamboo stems and leaves in time with the notes. For some reason, this post reminded me of that scene.

Your work is inspiring, I think I'll practice some more. :)

Thanks, Ju, for visiting and your kind words.

I believe that all forms of artistic expressions, including music, transcend the language barrier and complement and synergize each other. I would be interested in watching the Korean film too if you could let me have the name and other details. Thanks.
